The Speedy Fruit Tree You Need to Grow! Tamarillo / Tree Tomato
Tamarillo or Tree tomato is one of the fastest fruit trees to grow, providing delicious fruits in under 2 years from seed!
Not only do these South American fruit trees grow extremely fast, they're also easy to propagate, produce abundant harvests through Autumn and Winter, and the tamarillos can be used in many ways - eaten fresh or used in sweet or savoury dishes.
I'll be showing you how to grow tamarillos (also called tree tomatoes, or tomate de árbol), from seed to harvest and share some care requirements to consider.
We'll also do a tasting of the multiple tamarillo varieties that I'm growing, so you can see how different the varieties are.

It might help if you talked about the climate in which the individual lives. If someone plants an avocado tree in a place where there are freezes, it is likely the tree will not grow properly. This is never once mentioned in the video as though there weren't different regions on the planet. Avocados will grow in tropical climates as far as I am aware. I am happy to be educated if I am wrong.

Do these trees eventually produce avocados? I don’t know if it’s like a wise tail or something that I’ve heard, but I was told that store-bought avocados will not produce fruit.

I ordered a banana pup this spring and was gifted a packet of cardoon seeds with the order. It was too late to plant them once I did enough research but I'm really excited to plant them this next spring and try them. That fried cardoon looked so delicious 💜. I think I could get my hubby and daughter to eat those💜 💜 happy growing 💜 Eta: autocorrect loves to hate on me today lol

The attitude many people have about growing fruit from seed is the perfect embodiment of letting perfect be the enemy of good. If they can't 100% guarantee that something will grow to be a super special ultra premium perfect in every way specimen, then it's trash and anyone else who is happy with just getting something good is wrong/wasting time and should be trashed online.

My grandmother started an avocado tree from seed not long after buying her house in 1948. I grew up eating avocado. A lot of avocado. The tree was huge. By the time she passed way, the tree was taller than her house and was still producing fruit. We fertilized the tree with her ashes.

I have a 3-year-old tree grown from seed. Still in a large tub. I've been afraid to leave it outside in the winter. I'm at 4,000 ft in Arizona so winter temperatures are can get in the teens. (15 F). We have extreme wind (40mph). I have clay soil and gophers that like to eat the roots of several plants I have planted (ocotillos, agaves, trees, shrubs). Dare I risk putting it in the ground ?
